262 Royalty-Free Audio Tracks for "One Hit"

This was recorded with my phone's internal microphone and edited on my computer. This was made by me using one of my shoes to hit the ground. In case there is something i can improve upon, please write it down.

Voice samples for video games i made for a tigsource game competition using audacity. They're made to be chopped up and as flexible as possible for a video game. This one is of a male hero type character. The sample includes no words, just vocalizations like grunts, eating sounds, and hit sounds.

There are two recordings for each snare hit referenced in the numbered filenames. Adjustment of the sample start point may be necessary when layering these, accounting for any phase mis-alignments. [the full sample pack is being uploaded gradually. ]. .

Metal thumpy toilet paper holder. I got a last minute laptop gig and had no samples with me- i needed some percussive sounds to tweak in ableton live. I headed to a public bathroom with my edirol r-09 and recorded lots of hits in the bathroom. This one was an -sounding metal toilet paper holder.

This sound was recorded on iphone 6 and was cleaned up with audacity. The sound is of a cardboard box being split in half by hitting it the box has weight inside so, one side swings hitting the side of the table. Enjoy!.

Rode nt4 -> maudio delta1010lt, capturing a lightning strike that made the walls of my house shake, and forced me to turn off my computer. The lightning occured ~167 meters away from the microphone, calculated from the time lapse between the initial dc spike and the start of audible strike. Clipped quite a bit, had the input slightly too high, but did not expect one to hit so close. A picture hanging on my wall shook violently when this one hit. Akg c214 condenser mic, mackie onyx preamp, ad cirrus logic converter, minimal amount of rx3 nrthe first two sound are two wine glasses, with a bit different tone, struck at one another. The other two sounds are a hit of a glass of whiskey on a wine glass.

This first one in the pack is the loudest hit. The samples in this thunder pack are all 24-bit, and i recorded not directly as output from my mixer but routed it first through software compression and saturation and this first one was so loud it normalized itself during recording. None of the other samples are 'normal'. Notice my neighbor's car alarm going off the thunder was so loud. It's not loud in the mix.

One of a collection of grunts and screams from a male who is experiencing a measure of discomfort. These might be particularly useful as impact sounds in a game. Recorded with a tascam dr-40x and a glass of water nearby.

Recorded and processed at 24bit 48khz using a rode nt1-a condenser microphone. Processing: gain-staging and soft high and low frequency filtering. No eq boost or cuts anywhere else. Also de-noised.

One snare out of a bunch of custom snares made by me, combined samples, multi-band compressed and hit to tape. Custom to the point that i layered and re-sampled, layered and resampled. So much mangling and layering and resampling that its impossible to tell you the source to these snares.

Crash sample one-shot. These crashes were all made with virtual drum synths and processed through some analogue console emulation and added saturation. They were then trimmed to get rid of any dead space before or after the sample and finally normalized to 0db. This file is part of my anu crashes pack.

A set of orchestral hits with different instrumentations. All instruments play the note c. A: full orchestra with cymbals and bells (*1)b: full orchestra without cymbals and bellsc: no untuned percussiond: col legno strings (*2)e: no woodwindsf: no brassg: no percussionh: only brass & percussioni: only woodwinds and percussionj: only strings and percussionk: only col legno strings and percussionl: only strings and woodwindsm: only strings and brass. (*1) the cymbals tend to sound weird when you change the pitch (in my opinion) so all other samples don't use them. (*2) col legno is when the strings are hit with the wooden back of the bow. These are very dry samples with no additional reverb or any other processing.

Sample of a metallic percussion hit. The sound is quite dark and muffled. I call it underwater drum, because it sounds to me like it's underwater. This sample is tuned to a1 but there is a very dominant overtone at b1, which is the musical interval of a minor second. The source of the sample was the platter of a dismantled hard disk drive, hit with a wooden mallet. It was then pitched down a lot. The sample is almost raw, i just added some slight eq. The sample was intended to be used with a sampler, you may want to add some reverb for this and filter the previously mentioned overtone, when you use it in combination with other tuned instruments. Also, the pitch is probably not perfectly tuned. Microphone: akq perception 120post-processing: pitch manipulation & eq.

I needed a sound of someone falling down some stairs, so i grabbed a pelican case (took the camera out of it of course) and dropped it down the stairs a few times while my mate was holding a zoom recorder at the bottom. At one point the case hit my friend in the leg, but don't worry, he is ok.

The sound of a midland x-talker ringing when i hit the call button. It sounds like one of these old home phones. All i did was plug the walkie-talkie into my computer and then record the sound when i push the call button. This could be a good walkie-talkie sound.
